This is a CERTIFIED substitute teaching position. 

 

Candidates applying for this position must hold a valid Tennessee Teaching License in either the Elementary, Middle or High School levels.  These candidates would be called on to fill vacancies created by maternity or FMLA leaves.  Retirees are encouraged to apply.

 

Certified Teacher Substitutes at the District Wide Level will be considered for work at all eight (8) schools in the district.  This will include Elementary, Middle Grades, and High Schools level classes.

 

Substitute teachers are extremely important to the district's success in our student's continued education.  Applicants should possess a valid license, have passed a TBI/FBI Fingerprint background check, pass a Child & Protective Services (CPS) background check, complete an initial physical examination and be available to work up to a twelve (12) week assignment.

 

All candidates must submit an online application, provide proof of licensure, two (2) Professional references with email address, complete a TBI/FBI Fingerprint background check (see instructions below) for consideration for this position.  There is a one time (non-refundable) fee of $38 for the TBI/FBI Fingerprint Background check.

 

Background Check Instructions:

All fingerprint background checks for Lauderdale County School System are processed through L-1 Enrollment Services.  This background check cost $38.  This will enable the Department of Education to receive the results of the background check in a timely manner.

1.  For faster service, register by calling (855) 226-2937-Monday through Friday 8 a.m. -4:30 p.m.  Once registered you will receive a registration confirmation number.

            Go to www.L1enrollment.com and click on the Tennessee Map, and enter the information requested.

3.  At the fingerprint service site the applicant must provide a valid State or Federal Government issued identification (driver's license, birth certificate or social security card), and a set of fingerprints will be taken.

 

4.  Fingerprints will be electronically forwarded to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI) and all results of the fingerprint background check will be provided to the Board of Education.
